Description
Focusrite interfaces are perfect partners for Pro Tools, so Scarlett Solo comes with Pro Tools | First - Focusrite Creative pack, as well as Ableton Live Lite recording software and a suite of software and samples, so you can start recording straight away. As you'd expect, it works flawlessly with all major DAWs on Windows and Mac. Easily make recordings that sound exactly like you. Connect your microphone to our natural sounding Scarlett preamp, and plug your guitar straight into a newly designed input, both of which capture studio-quality audio that sounds just the way you intended. 48V phantom power means you can use any mic you want. Record your guitar and vocals at the same time, onto separate tracks. If one doesn't sound right, you won't have to re-record both. You can also apply separate effects: amp simulation to your guitar, for example, and reverb on your vocal. Super-low latency lets you enhance your recordings in ways that are simply impossible with any other interface in this class, like enabling real-time guitar amp simulation and vocal reverb (subject to your software, settings and computer).   One natural-sounding Scarlett mic preamp with plenty of even gain. One newly-designed instrument input, designed to handle seriously hot pick-ups Class-leading conversion and sample rates up to 192kHz / 24 bit Super-low latency for using your plug-ins in real time without the need for DSP One headphones output with gain control Stereo line outputs on RCA phono for connecting to home speakers Compact and tough enough to take anywhere Powered by USB so you don't need to carry a power cable Includes Pro Tools | First Focusrite Creative Pack and Ableton Live Lite All the additional software and loops you need to start recording Bundle and Save Adding value to your purchase, Austin Bazaar bundles your instrument with necessary accessories, including an XLR cable and Austin Bazaar polishing cloth. You also get Softube's Time and Tone bundle, the Focusrite Red Plug-In Suite, Novation's Bass Station Virtual synthesiser and 2GB of Loopmasters samples. All the software is simple enough for beginners, yet sophisticated enough for advanced users. Crisp and Clear Converting your performance into digital audio and back again is the most important part of the recording process. We’ve been making class-leading converters for over 20 years, and Scarlett Solo has the best converters of any interface in its class. You can really hear the difference! Every part of your recording will be beautifully crisp and clear, even when you’re playing softly. This means you can amplify your quieter moments without any unwanted hiss or buzzing. The Perfect Level Setting the perfect level couldn’t be easier, thanks to our signature halos around the gain knobs. They glow a reassuring shade of green when you’re recording at the perfect volume. If they turn red, it’s time to back off. Record Anywhere Never miss another moment of inspiration. Capture ideas at a friend’s house, or record your next open mic night: Scarlett Solo is tiny and tough enough to take anywhere - but sounds just like our biggest Scarlett interfaces. You don’t need a power supply, either – just connect with a USB cable and start recording. I purchased this product for my SHURE SM7B microphone. Everything plugged in great, but no sound was taking into my microphone. After much time troubleshooting, we finally pulled the cable boots off and saw that one of the 3 prongs was missing a wire on BOTH sides. Tried another XLR cable that a friend had lying around and BOOM, everything worked fine!Just be aware, if this product comes with an XLR cable, it may not be a good enough cable to power your microphone.Easy to use for our radio show Your Folk Connection on KRCU Public Radio. We use it to put togetherour show with Adobe Audition.Good product (At first I didn't get the XLR cable, but they sent me one so changed to 4 stars). The Scarlett is easy to use once you install one of the audio programs it comes with a key for. Some learning required to get used to using this type of software. But if you keep at it you can record.I purchased this product because my Saffire Pro 24 will soon become obsolete.Focusrite will no longer provide support updates and downloads. The Saffire also runs off the Thunderbolt on my iMac computer. It took 3 separate hookups from the device to the computer. My DAW software is Reaper, Garage Band and IK Multimedia Amplitube 5. The Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen looked perfect from my research. I like that it has a simple USB from the device to the computer. I hooked it up yesterday and wow...everything had such better clarity than the outdated Saffire. Amplitube sounded great and the music was so distinct and clear. I am sorry I didn't upgrade a long time ago. Installation was easy and I am very happy with the product. There nothing I dislike at this interface it's awesome great for your money very to connect to my computer and my mixing board for my podcast. This a very great interface.Fantastic! My order arrived as expected! Very good serviceUpdate:Set up is not as easy as I expected...Even before you connect the interface to your computer take your time and go to the focusrite site ( address is printed in the box) and download the proper app for the scarlett 18i8 otherwise it wont work... after proper downloading of app connect your computer and only then it will be fully functional. In my case I tryed to use straight away from the box and the the two outlets for headphone would not work... They don't tell you this in the box. I contacted the support people and they answered inmediately and everything was perfect.Soundwise it is warm and sounds perfect... you would fine other interfaces more punchy than this but... who needs to deaf!More comments to come! The sound is incredible and even though I am in the learning stages I am very impressed. Baby steps as I move forward learning how to finally record my music. But, with that said Focusrite is an amazing company when it comes to support online and on the phone. They are very friendly and want you to succeed. I have laid down only 2 tracks so far but what I have laid down I am so impressed at how good it makes me sound....haha. For the price it is truly worth a go.The package includes the audio-to-digital convertor, a mic stand, a microphone, an XLR cable, and a USB cable. There is also a way-too-complicated web site for downloading drivers. What is missing is 48 volts DC phantom power for the mic. I bought that separately and the whole thing is working properly. The USB has about 5 volts DC available. Nice, but not enough to power the mic.
