Ms. Johnson's arrangement of O Worship the King with Angels from the Realms of Glory is a crowd pleaser. It carries the feel of true praise and worship, while also being fun to play! I played it for the church the week before Christmas and it really worked! I have high praise for nearly all the other arrangements. The only song in the book that was a bit of a disappointment for me was O Come, All Ye Faithful with Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee as it spends the whole last couple of pages changing keys. I get that modulating up is a way to underscore the triumphant, celebratory nature of those two songs, but it was a bit much for me and would be a bit much for where I play. I would have rather spent more time playing Joyful, Joyful ... and less time going in and out of new key signatures.Fortunately that is the only arrangement that spends so much time changing key signatures. If you like constant changes, start with this one. If you prefer fewer key signature changes, start with any of the other songs. It's not the technique involved in key changes that bothers me; it's the sound that after enough of them begins to detract from the whole. The collection is a keeper!I am an early advanced pianist with a solid Czerny - Bergmuller base for technique, and with some practice they were all do'able at the tempos indicated. While I am an adult with piano experience, I have small hands, so I appreciate that if you can reach an octave, you can play the songs in this book. With some work and perhaps not quite at the tempos indicated but still played beautifully and expressively, I think late-intermediate pianists could do a nice job with them. I doubt that an intermediate pianist could get them performance ready.A 5-star keeper. The compositions are interesting, musical, creative, enjoyable to hear, fun to play.
