Ed Darack writes in such vivid detail, he really paints a picture and brings the reader into his experiences. I felt as if I were in the kayak with him as he describes meticulously every sight, sound, smell, and feel, and even tastes. I found it difficult to put the book down. His maps are like no others I've seen in other expedition journals. Having travelled a lot in Baja in years past I have a special appreciation for good maps and Ed's are very good. I'm inspired to take on similar adventure challenges because of this book.
